The Communication
Reserve Unit is staffed by volunteer amature radio operators. These licensed
"ham's" provide the Sheriff's Office with additional communications capabilities
during emergencies and special functions. Members of the Communications
Reserve Unit are not peace officers, and serve in a non-sworn support
role. Meetings are held at the Butte County Sheriff's Office on the first
Wednesday of every month at 1900 hrs. For more information contact Sheriff
Scott Mackenzie's (KA6SUY) office at (530) 538-7321.
