The Sheriff's
Team of Active Retired Seniors (STARS) is a group of volunteers who assist
the Sheriff's Office accomplish a wide variety of tasks. They can be seen
conducting crime prevention seminars, doing vacation house checks, directing
traffic, and making community contacts.
In
order to become a STAR, you must be at least 50 years old, retired, and
pass an interview, background check and STARS academy. For information
